Read the excerpt, highlighting unusual vocabulary as you go. Define that vocabulary using the comment feature. Then summarize the excerpt and identify claim, evidence, reasoning (it may include none of the above), as well as the rhetorical devices ethos (ethics/credibility), logos (logic/rationality) and pathos (emotion/persuasion).
