Objective:
SWBAT create a product that demonstrates an understanding of their role in the election project and prepares them to engage in conversation and questioning at the Washington Insiders Event.
Warm-up:
Respond to this Menti Survey using the instructions below or by following this link.
Classwork - Election Project Task 1:
Access the sample specific to your task in the Schoology Resource Folder for this week. Examine the template and the overview for your role, then respond to the questions associated with your Task 1 assignment. Use that information to create your stump speech, questions, flyer, and/or brochure. Come prepared to interact with each other as you try to familiarize yourself with all components of a political campaign. We will not be using our computers at the event tomorrow, so it would be beneficial to bring notes (either printed or handwritten) to help you remember important points or questions.
Classwork - Document Analysis:
Upon completion of the election product, access the Fixing a Broken Economy Documents in the Resources Folder for this week. As you read and analyze the background summary and documents, respond to the document analysis questions in the Fixing a Broken Economy Analysis assignment. You will be using the documents and your analysis to complete a Take a Stand next week. I encourage you to work collaboratively but efficiently as you will only have two class periods to complete your analysis.
Homework:
1. Read American Politics Today pages 536-551
2. Define/Contextualize through open market operations
