SWBAT explain the relationship between McDonald v. Chicago and the Bill of Rights, as well as apply the precedent established in McDonald v. Chicago to new scenarios.

Read and complete the Case Summary (document 7 - the back page has The Second Amendment and Firearm Regulation as the title) for McDonald v. Chicago by accessing Schoology (Unit 3, Chapter 4) and then watch the video below to reinforce the reading.
Applying Precedents:
McDonald v. Chicago incorporates the ruling in DC v. Heller. With this in mind, follow the link Second Amendment and Firearm Regulation in Schoology, Unit 3 Chapter 4. The DC v. Heller ruling is clarified, followed by four proposals designed to reduce gun violence. Using both the McDonald and Heller rulings, complete Is It Constitutional, which is on the second sheet, third and fourth pages of Document 7. We will complete the second page (Deliberation on the back of the Case Summary) tomorrow.
