The activities in this lesson should be completed collaboratively. In part 1, you will read and compare two current news stories then summarize the main differences between civil and criminal lawsuits. In part 2, you will use the fact sheet to differentiate between federal and state court cases. Upon completion of the written portion of this activity, students will apply what they learned to new scenarios.
